![]() ![]() We are taking over multiple new environments with no clue what is on their networks. Looking for recommendations on a network topology tool where all we have to do is label the device/switch with it's physical location after it's scan. Affordable or free software that will map network topology Networking. ![]() They may choose not to enforce that during an audit, but it's definitely what they are saying and what they mean. MS has been pretty clear about the intent for OEM licensing. It's an old habit that's hard to break.īreaking the OEM license can, possibly, get you in trouble if MS decides to sue.Īs for p2v migrations, I don't agree with you about intent. I have been trying to move away from the word legal, because I do know that a law suit is required. I should stick with the term legit and stop saying legal. To make it 'illegal' means they have to sue, and win, so with all due respect please stop selling FUD on this matter. Good point. Microsoft, or any other software maker doesn't write legislation. It makes it a potential violation of that EULA. ![]() Lets clarify that because I'm sick of hearing it, and it's incorrect.īecause some executives and their legal dept put something in a EULA, and you violate that EULA doesn't make 'illegal'. The OEM Eula intents were written long before bare metal to virtual migrations were as common place as they are now and meant to stop software piracy that has nothing to do with P2V migrations. Again, I've P2V'd zillions of OEM systems, gone through audits, and nobody cared as long as I had *some* Enterprise licensing going on. ![]()
